!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and was thinking about buying one. Well, it looks it will continue to be a dream for a little longer. It really comes down to me not having a place for it; I’d also want a place to work on it and I lack that as well. As a result, I’m going to hit pause on fulfilling the dream of an E34 M5. In the meantime, I guess I will have to make due with my M3. I’m not sure how I’m going to survive.
Probably not a bad thing either. I had to wait for timing to work out with my M3 and I got exactly what I wanted. I’m sure there will be an opportunity in my future for an E34 M5, just not right now, unless one falls into my lap.

See, where you have a place to park three cars and two people to drive them, my predicament is one person to three cars and no where to park the E34.

The ISF has been moved once since Sunday but it was to clean out the garage. It won’t be driven all weekend because cool things to drive. Whoops.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan do you really want to deal with that mess of an engine? I feel like the V8 in your car is a walk in the park compared to this...uh...
...where was I?

“make do” Ha! I think you’ll be okay.

Whaaaaaaa........
![]() 05/03/2018 at 12:32 |

I would probably have to get one with a rebuilt engine or rebuild it myself. I don’t have a place for that.
My V8 has been very reliable, which is one reason I’m still really happy I got it. I just needs some tires right now.

I have a solution for you. Buy it, and I’ll hang on to it for you until you have more room, k?

There might have been some sarcasm peppered in.

There are many solutions to a problem, this is one of them.

I always thought it would be the price of cars that would keep me from owning multiple.
#1 space
#2 insurance
I’ve got 4 cars and a motorcycle in a single lane driveway with no garage. I drive/ride them all so I’m constantly playing “musical cars”. I’ve come so close to pulling the trigger on a 2002, but I just can’t until I get rid of something, but I don’t want to. I want all the cars!

I feel like it’s a solid plan, personally.

My insurance went down by 40% when I moved. One of my friends told me to compensate with another car.
Space is my issue.

There must be someone in your complex that has an unused garage that you could rent cheap? ?

wow isn’t it great how Oppos are willing to help each other out in tough circumstances. That’s why I love this community

From the complex, but I don’t really want to pay for another garage. Plus there isn’t enough room for tools and things like that. I think I need a house first.

I will come up to drive one for you.

I’d say that’s proper Oppo thinking... I need a house so I can get an E34 M5 .

An E28 or E34 M5 is the only bimmer I want. I don’t have room for one though, and my project car budget is eaten up by the truck at the moment.
I used to lust after E90 M3's too, but that was trumped by the 997.

I’m going to be making do with my M3 while I dream and save for a GT3. =)

Modify the M3, play around with it. It will take the itch of something different (Just for a while).

Is it really that much of a mess?

I’ve read it’s a PITA to adjust all those throttle bodies. Seems like it might be a bit of a prissy engine though, since it’s a high-strung straight-6 from BMW.
![]() 05/03/2018 at 16:09 |

I just assumed since straight sixes are (Were) the bread and butter of BMW that this would be not that hard of a task to keep in shape.
The M3 V8 really does seem like a wonderful engine more and more.
Bonus: Straight 6 noises coming from my 3er:

Honestly, space is my biggest constraint. I have a nice large two car carport, but the driveway up to it is one car wide. I can already hear my wife grumbling now when I finally convince her to let me have another car.

That sounds good. I’m going to miss the noises my M54B30 used to make.

Its such an exquisite sound. Even non-car people I have given rides say things such as
“The uh, the motor just sounds great”

It’ll be worth it to wait until you have the garage and garage space to store it and work on it. I wouldn’t leave a 90s classic like that out in the elements.
![]() 05/03/2018 at 18:43 |
|
I couldn’t do that. I also can’t put my M3 into the elements.

You should get a 2015 Passat TSI Limited with 47k miles.
I know a guy if you want a great deal.
